In the recent issue of Vogue magazine it wasn't really the fashion that interest me but an article,

"Matters of The Heart."

It seems nowadays, even though a lot of us are watching what we eat and are pretty cautious to a certain extent about our figure we don't really listen to our bodies. What happens though, when the symptoms are things we may find normal or have had for years and just dismiss easily?

Well, you pick up the latest issue of Vogue (usa) and start reading ....

For those though who don't have the recent issue... here are facts according to this article:

The increase in heart- disease related deaths among American women in general in many ways mirrors what an actual heart attack is like in an individual woman - quiet, often unaccounted for and dismissed at great risk.

Heart Disease remains the number 1 killer of women in the United States and younger women are twice as likely to die after suffering a heart attack as men of the same age.

The age group of females most at risk - and most able to prevent future problems is women in their 30's and 40's who tend to think they are invisible.

The symptoms are not what you would expect like severe chest pain but feeling tired and uncomfortable.

70% Unusual Fatigue
48% Sleep Disturbance
42% Shortness of Breath
39% Indigestion
35% Heightened Sense of Anxiety

Studies have shown that today, women delay calling their doctor than five years ago.

If you are wondering why you are reading this on a fashion blog, it's because we all to be healthy so we can enjoy the beauty of fashion and everything this world has to offer us.

If your not feeling okay - don't hesitate! Get a check up. Heart disease is responsible for 300,000 females deaths annually. It claims more deaths than breast cancer.

11 ENTEKA AWAKENING CODE: It's the oldest lifestyle we ironically call "new age" It's created for those who believe in the energy of the Cosmos. It is for those who know there is more then what the eyes can see and what the hands can actually touch. It's for the soul searchers! It's for those who do not believe in coincidence and have an experience like dejavu! It's for the deep thinkers, for those who wonder who they are and even for those who have already discovered their own inner strength and never stop searching.

It's about my own awakening and sharing it with you at the time it feels right. My latest project: A contest taking place on the 16th of June in Charlotte, North Carolina.

My theme: GLOW

A design inspired by this bottle and possibly what it consist of.

Foundation of Fashion Comfort & Elegance ....

New York, London, and Paris; the top Fashion capitals of the world! Athens doesn't come to mind when we think of FASHION WEEK...and if it does it is usually on the bottom of the list....

but we can only hope that it at least gets the credit it deserves. The world of Ancient Greece and it’s style has inspired many designers. Flowing designs which are simple, elegant and chic. They are classic and dynamic!

Designers such as Gucci, Versace, Elie Saab, Christian Dior, Marc Jacob, Alexander McQueen and many others have been inspired by the Grecian styles. They are styles that can be worn from daily wear to evening wear. They can be worn with flat sandals, boots or high heal pumps. It is a style that can be dressed up or down.

The look has survived ages and has never been “out of style”. It is not a trend but IT IS fashion.

It is the foundation of Fashion Comfort & Elegance. Many styles have been born from this time in age...

The long curls, braided updos, the natural make up, cuffs, the comfort of the flowing gowns are seen everywhere till this day. More so, every summer.

Today the Sophisticated 70’s that is WHATS IN right NOW, includes the long bouncy curles and sheer flowing maxi dresses. The relation is evident to that of what was once worn by the early Greeks.

The tunic, toga, and stola ...come with high end nametags today and even higher price tags. They have been transformed into shirts, dresses and even wedding gowns. According to the designer, they can cost anywhere from 50usd to 20,000usd plus.

It is ironic that very few Greek designers such as John Varvatos and Sophia Kokosalaki have actually been apart of the famous Fashion Weeks in New York, Paris or London. You would naturally think, that Greece which is so rich in history would have so much more to offer the world of Fashion and it does.

You just have to look at the right places and you will find the secret world of talented Greek designers.

If you walk up and down the streets of Kolonaki in Athens you will find many upscale boutiques owned by talented Greek fashion designers. It is the best kept secret to the Fashion world. The designs are original! There are many more secrets as you cross the islands. You will see designs that surprisingly enough will later be seen on the runways of high end deisgners. The problem is that most people nowadays, will not buy something that isn’t made from a well known source. They wouldn’t pay what it’s worth even though the quality of the local designer is better. This is the reason why most Greek designers end up going no further then "our" mother country, Greece. It is not only talent that can take one to upper levels in this specific industry... but culture! That is where the ideas stem.

It is not only talent and culture though that can make Greek designers step outside and into the Fashion capitals of the world but it is the support and love of their friends and family. If this love is sincere, it will be passed on and felt by all others that will come in contact with the works of these designers....

As a designer making my "baby steps" slowly into this industry, I feel we all must take time out and appreciate the beauty of what has come before us so what is ahead of us can be just as grand! We, as designers, are all inspired by "yesterday". We look back and take the things that have touched our souls and make give them the twist of today for the people of today. I for one, who is so very much inspired by the magical land of the Gods feel it is a must to show appreciation to what was once.... To give credit where credit is due!

In our economy today, many all over are suffering - young children who dream big - have limits to their dreams! In tough times though, where parents are struggling with their full time jobs and running home to make sure their kids have food to eat and have done their homework.. that is what we all can do - dream of a better tomorrow! This is why it is important to support your people, your children, your friends! Make sure they do dream big and that they believe in themselves. Give them a helping hand but also teach them how to help others to do the same. Give limits to the negative criticism and find ways to point out their negatives through YOUR positive acts!

Life is beautiful and all the good we give ends up coming back to us when we least expect it. There truly is beauty all around us!

Could it possibly be?

Could the D&G line of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana really come to an end

is it just rumors?

WWD reports the designers may merge the younger D&G line with their signature line Dolce & Gabbana, which is surprising since it pulls in $531 million on its own.....

D&G final collection is thought to be spring/summer 2012.

If you are wondering what the Mr. D & Mr. G. are saying about these rummers ...

"no comment"

Personally, I believe this is a smart move. I think in times such as we are living in, we need to simplify things.

If Mr. Dolce and Mr.Gabbana feel this is what they need to do - they just should.

Who are we kidding? Filling the shoes of such a talented designer is quit a challenge ...

The shoe collection was first seen in the October runway show for Spring/Summer 2011 and is now in the pages of Vogue and other well respected magazines of the fashion industry...

But Lets get back to the lady who is filling in those beautiful shoes...

Sarah Burton worked with the late and talented Alexander McQueen side by side for 15 years. Their connection is evident!
(a short description but straight to the point)

These shoes are simply work of art....

It is kind of hard to believe that McQueen isn't around isn't it?

McQueen will continue to be around just as Chanel!

Let's be realistic though... If the shoes left empty aren't filled by

Family Circus/ W magazine December 2010

So, as I was extremely tired from my flight back from Greece and all I wanted to do was rest.... I came home to find the December 2010 W magazine waiting for me.

I flipped through the pages really quick and came upon these images that to some may be just pictures but in my eyes they are

a work of art!

I am sure the lion was what stole my attention at first but then ....

It was the beautiful Vera Wang Black silk tulle gown. The snow. The cold yet trendy make up but what still captures my attention is the proud lion sitting comfortably next to three fearless and expressionless females.

What could the message be?

The images after the first are just as strong.

Fashion is something that involves everything that surrounds us. Fashion is made carefully with many things in mind such as nature, politics, the stock market and everything that has an affect on a human being.

In my personal opinion, it is not a coincidence that in this issue of W magazine we see beautiful gowns from designers Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Marie Chantal, Chanel and Louis Vuitton worn and are accompanied by animals who seem to have more life to them then the actual models.

With this in mind....
